Big progress in restoring Gibraltar’s medieval Moorish Castle and Tower and Dungeons. Will be an amazing site to visit, full of history and heritage and with outstanding views of the Mediterranean coast, and the Bay and Strait of Gibraltar with Africa beyond.

We often don’t realise the beauty of some of the small patches of natural habitat that have been restored. Take a look at the Romulea clusiana at Nun’s Well, Europa Point, #Gibraltar.

Constructive discussion on language and communication in #Gibraltar schools across sectors concentrating on improving preparedness and protecting bilingualism. Thanks to all the teachers for intense discussion. Looking forward to progressing on these fronts.

Lunchtime on #MeatFreeMonday. A delicious vegan meal of courgette fritters, tofu scramble, rocket, and avocado and tomato relishes, accompanied by a coffee with coconut milk. I can do this 😋

When you’re walking along Gibraltar’s Main Street and see a shop assistant in the shop window and realise she’s trying (and failing) to rescue a black redstart trapped behind the glass. So you offer and succeed in seconds cos you’re experienced in handling birds. She flew free🙂

Legislating is one of the key aspects of my job. Yesterday at the Gibraltar Parliament I took first and second readings of 8 Bills on Environmental, Transport and Education law. Including the first ever Bills declared to be Environmental Law under the Environmental Governance Act.

Merry Christmas from the Gibraltar Department of Education! Left my jumper behind but I hope the tie’s OK!

The night of the 8th December 2011 was the longest night ever. The count of the General Election led to ‘regime change’ after close on 16 years and started over a decade of real progressive change in Gibraltar.

Having learnt to ride a bicycle over the last few weeks at the age of 68, I’ve proudly completed the OTWO Magazine challenge by riding 11km over roads and cycle lanes in Gibraltar, in support of GBC Open Day charities. Thanks to the team and sponsors and all who joined me this morning 🙂.

Supporting the excellent work done by the prostate cancer support group Gibraltar with my colleagues. Leslie Bruzon not looking too happy about the imminent shave!! This awareness creation is so important and literally saves - and has saved - lives. Well done!

Wonderful Christmas Carol concert last night at St Theresa’s Church, Gibraltar with choirs from Governor’s Meadow, Loreto Convent and St Bernard’s schools. Thank you @setrocJoe for organising these for 20 years! Great to see carols and villancicos, true to our bilingual culture.

A real honour to represent Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and HMG of Gibraltar at the pre-JMC meeting of UK Overseas Territories’ leaders in London today. Much good work done on many issues of common interest in preparing for the JMC with UK Government during the rest of the week.
