Reminds me a bit of Heinrich Schliemann, who indiscriminately used dynamite to excavate Troy.

As vital as early archeologists were for pioneering their field, they sure did a lot of damage.

Still, I never had the skills to fully realize any of them and it's unfinished business for an ADHDer who's perpetually bad at practicing.

To be completely clear, I doubt any of my past songs have much merit to anyone but me, some friends and some family. That doesn't stop me from wondering if they're worth dredging up.

There are probably bad recordings of my handful of songs on a hard drive somewhere, but I've probably forgotten how to play them altogether. Such is life when you don't write down the musical notations.

I'll wrap things up by expressing how grateful I am to my readers and my clients. Helping people learn about tech is so rewarding and I love that I get to do it for a living. Your support is what makes this possible.

Have a great day!

Mini PCs have caught my eye as of late (hoping to have the budget for a Mac Mini M4 soon) so it was a pleasant surprise to see so much diversity in the category these days.

I still don't know how to feel about Gemini for Home, because I'm still waiting for it to roll out, but hopefully we'll get some nice improvements to Google Home soon.

Still, I was happy to talk about how the smart home can help with accessibility accommodations and independent living. Companies making niche accessibility tech aren't always great at connecting with the right customers, so it's easy to dismiss the real benefits when they don't match your needs.
Niche Smart Home Tech Can Help With Accessibility and Boost Independent Living - TWICE
Consumers wanting to remain independent opens the door for collaboration with caregivers and institutions to adopt more smart home tech.

Another client of mine is a trade magazine, TWICE—my pieces for them are more for producers rather than consumers.

Tribest Backspin is a very cool blender that uses both vacuum sealing and a counter-rotating canister. It feels pretty sci-fi at times, but I generally liked how it elevated my smoothie game. Personally, I'd probably stick with a cheaper blender since premium appliances aren't my jam.

Is backspin the key to a smoother blend with less stopping and scraping? I tested the Tribest blender to find out.

Speaking of my cat, he wasn't a fan of the Enabot Ebo Air 2, a robot security camera. The camera is pretty good, but it's better as a pet toy.
Enabot Ebo Air 2 Review: Functional Home Security Robot or $200 Pet Toy?
A floor-locked security robot is clearly limited for home monitoring, but the Ebo Air 2 boasts pet-friendly features that make it worth a look. Here's what my cat and I thought of Enabot's latest rele...

This summer, I bought a PawSync smart pet feeder to help my cat transition back to dry food. While it has some quirks, the overall results have been amazing and he's happier than ever.

I distinctly recall a time when sets like these fell apart when you looked at them.

So, I guess increasing the text size on my phone caused the single-line display.

Regardless, I stand by my assessment that Google Home's interface is not my favorite.

One day I'll jump to Home Assistant and then all the control will be mine.

I primarily use SmartThings for my smart home UI precisely because of this. Also because Google Home's automation tools are so weak for anything involving sensors.

I'm so glad that wide compatibility means I don't have to settle for a crappy UI.
