What I don’t understand is there have been several studies over the past three years that say Sotyku may prevent T1D and still there is no clinical study in humans to verify it.

Very bad news but much worse because from recent statements the company has made during investor conferences it seems as if hypoimmune cells are proving very difficult.

I guess sana is coming at the issue from the other side than vertex—trying to prove the hypo ability of cells rather than the ability of manufactured cells to produce insulin—and they decided to use the most stable platform, deceased donor cells, to prove that ability.

Since companies that are investing millions/billions in research are understandably concerned about ROI it seems that universities should be the ones changing their practices to be more like the private sector. If you are a research institution than you need to invest heavily in research.
