I never thought much about the legislative ceding power to the executive - but a simple majority can cede power to the executive; but it then takes a veto proof majority to wrest it back (the executive would simply veto a bill to rescind privilege…. 53 and just got this point now. Sigh.

I am a startup founder here in CA - and in the past have been at startups that relied on NSF/SBIR’s. This is kneecapping innovation and growth years into the future. In addition to the general horrid behavior of this administration….

Just looked through - science across the board. The only science increase was NASA manned space flight but all othe NASA programs slashed. NSF grants - slashed.
The immediate impacts will hurt - the longer range impacts will cripple Americas ability to lead and attract in science for decades 😢

No appreciation of soft power…. None. No respect for the law driven world order (which def has flaws) but provided the umbrella under which the US prospered for 80 years….

Ok - geeking out - @nudibranchnerd.bsky.social reposted me. I’ve been going tidepooling with my daughters for 20 years now; my youngest is a senior in HS and her common app essay referenced Nudibranch Nerd (the theme was that oftentimes the journey is better than the destination)!
