Found another medieval silver penny today #metaldetecting. I'm pretty sure that it's Edward I c1272-1307 but instead of the most common CIVITAS LONDON on the reverse it has a mint that I can't make out. Also found a Charles I farthing, some buttons, a musket ball and a mystery piece of bronze.

Limiting time #metaldetecting due to a bad shoulder. Today's only interesting bit was this post medieval silver coin fragment. Rosa Sine Spina (a rose without thorns) and Civitas London would have been the full legends.

Had a couple of hours #metaldetecting Tfir button and a 1652 Farthing from Yarmouth issued by William Lincolne grocer.

Just finished this. Describing a thrilling and suspenseful attempt to escape a murderous Mexican cartel, this exciting novel is pretty near perfect. Strongly recommended. #AmericanDirt

Long journey yesterday. Finished Butter and read Kamogawa Food Detectives & The Chalk Man. Butter is a superbly constructed novel about a dowdy femme fatale and a journalist engrossed by her. Food Detects a charming little book. Chalk Man a convoluted page turner.Gruesome but nonetheless a good read

Last couple of hours #metaldetecting for 2024. Best find a Henry III cut half penny c1248. Also some post medieval buckles and fittings and a Royal Artillery button .
