simpler times indeed.

On the 1979 bbc results show Butler et al made their first call after just 22 seats declared. All holds, but markedly uneven swings. No exit polls of course.

Final outcome 269/339/11

One of the great live albums. This the extended double-cd version released 2002.

Have to concur, though, with Lowell George’s reportedly dim view of Payne and Barrere’s ‘Day at the Dog Races’, one of the additional tracks. Cold fusion.

Excellent 2023 recording of Mozart’s intricately beautiful Piano Concerto no.6 in B-flat major and, composed ten years later, the majestic no.25 in C major.

Wonderful.

The pass at Sutton Bank is likely where the Scots pressed their main frontal assault.
The decisive outflanking is thought to have been further round the headland via Hell Hole, near Scotch Corner.
(aka the Battle of Scotch Corner, not to be confused with the well-known A1 junction further north.)

Just wonderful.
Virtuoso guitar and a now richly venerable voice. And some breathtaking arrangements, accompanied by Sheema Mukherjee on sitar and @elizacarthy.bsky.social on fiddle and voice.

Let me swim in a jug of this.
