Musk is a threat to national security because he is promoting violent insurrection.
However, a number of his recent outbursts on X strongly suggest he is mental unstable and that he has lost contact with reality. If he continues in this vein it will rapidly become more obvious to more people.

Tesla have been hit by two major factors. The first, which the article highlights, is Musk’s perceived toxicity (he has also lost his ‘aura’ as a futurist guru). The other factor is that Tesla have squandered their lead in the EV market. There are better and cheaper alternatives now.
