Or why do we recruit managers who are not fit for our players? I do get the players must shoulder majority of the blame but did noone higher up work out whether this would work.

Sort of agree. We can’t get relegated because he won’t adapt. He can’t be so stubborn, if we don’t have the players he has to have some pragmatism.
It’s like when managers demand to play out from the back with terrible defenders. You don’t get to force a style on bad players sadly.
