Actually David Gemmell - fantasy author - got in my head

Well, he's actively working for Putin, so...

Now I'm retired, I've had the chance to watch Mahmood's statement and most of the debate. Nothing she said bore the slightest resemblance to what I saw on here last night.

I really don't think Labour is 'poisonous' unless you're far right or dozy Left

Infrastructure stuff happening for the first time in 14 years. It was never going to be easy

Well, the second paragraph i wouldn't agree with - they had stalled & the crash gave them new impetus

Moreover, I certainly don't think Reform winning is a done deal. Their performance in actual elections rather than opinion polls is spotty & they are bitterly factional

Not a big fan of PR. It allows fringe parties to build a base of support & get a toehold in power - the most extreme example being the Nazis

The Greens have only EVER got a share in Government through PR, the nearest example being the Scottish Greens. Not convinced by them at all

Warm beer, jumpers for goalposts, Morecombe and Wise...

Yeah, you're right. Some people 'believe;' but doubt the execution of the plan

I'm minded to say, I think a lot of the Faragists say that, but they don't care. The aim was to destabilise & boost themselves

Cynical swine
November 18, 2025 at 11:48 AM
Not sure. Apart from the ppl peddling the constitutional issue about laws 'being imposed' by 'foreigners,' I don't come across anyone still arguing Brexit was a good thing

The cynics just say 'it wasn't done right.'

But I don't come across many Brexiteers
November 18, 2025 at 11:41 AM
Yeah. Strange man
November 18, 2025 at 11:31 AM
I think the Farages of this world saw it as a way to destabilise the country & boost the hard right. It worked for them

Cynics like Gove & Johnson just saw it as a way to advance themselves

Neither group 'believed' in it

It was a terrible idea & a great act of national self-harm

Stay retired, Alan. You really aren't as witty & clever as you think you are
November 18, 2025 at 10:51 AM
Did I not mute you?

Tsk...
November 18, 2025 at 10:40 AM
Well, there's plenty of muck to rake, firstly, & the idea that Starmer 'lied' shows you're just another dozy Corbynite who thinks the Greens are a good place to flee to
November 18, 2025 at 10:17 AM
Except that's just a narrative in your own head. 'Appeasing racists' as opposed to 'returning failed asylum seekers.'

Most people are for the latter, but you only think in slogans
November 18, 2025 at 10:14 AM
Ditto, if you really think Starmer is a fascist. And 'took over' when it was a democratic vote

Where do you hang your picture of St Jeremy at home?
November 18, 2025 at 10:03 AM
Why did you choose to call yourself 'Tech Broligarch?'

I mean, you're not a serious person, are you?
