@helenczerski.bsky.social @tomheap.bsky.social Another thought provoking programme in the series Rare Earth about changes in the weather at this time of the year, featuring weatherman John Hammond. No scaremongering, just facts and considered opinion based on observation and knowledge. First rate!

Good to hear you both on another new series of Rare Earth on BBC Radio4. I enjoyed your latest broadcast about the insurance industry and climate change. Very interesting, well-balanced and insightful. Thank you, and welcome back.

I live in a rural setting on the southern border of Greater Manchester. While enjoying a mug of coffee sat in a room facing my rear garden, I spotted two green parakeets alight on a bush bearing berries. They were a wonderful sight. I suspect they are feral. The unexpected joys of nature!

Just returned from a visit to the local health centre to be greeted by two moorhens grazing in my back garden. It’s cold and the nearby pond is frozen over. The birds are hungry and under pressure. It’s uncanny how nature can bring you back down to earth. I was touched.
