Also in North Wales, we were there for a couple of days recently. had to look up to identify. Don’t get them in Suffolk, plenty of other thistles. Thistles are great for pollinators, too often undervalued as a biodiversity resource.

I swear that some of the rabbits in our garden are more tame than others kept in a hutch. Nicole, my wife has assured them we are vegetarian apparently.

We have a few white doves in the farm yard, we joke that they are to feed the sparrowhawks… word has obviously gone round

As an introduced species they are a pest, but doesn’t stop the young being cute. This was no bigger than a domestic cat. The mother barking not far away.

The sunflowers in the winter bird food plots look spectacular at this time of year, and they are always the first seed to be eaten.There has been some questioning of the value of stewardship, have been in it for over 30 years, it has come a long way. @rspb.bsky.social @btobirds.bsky.social
