I watched The Name of the Rose recently and I don't want to do spoilers, though it is from 1986, but damn this theme is very much there.
Also, shout out to the author, Umberto Eco, that gave us the best description of fascism.

The one thing that is growing extremely fast is the wealth of the top billionaires:

There's just an infinite amount of driving scenarios that not only can these programs not learn, but won't understand what to do or why. Each novel thing has a potential for disaster.
