You’re thinking of the Bluesky client. It’s just their version of a client for the open protocol they created. One of many clients. The protocol itself is decentralized by design and available to everyone

In probably 2009, my friend and I were at the park on a low volume day and were allowed to stay on the ride as many times as we’d like. We rode it 21 times in a row. We only got off because someone took his souvenir cup.

As for history, I haven’t yet finished it but Powers and Thrones by Dan Jones does a good job of covering the Middle Ages from ~410AD-1527, Rome to Protestant reformation. It’s quite dense covering 1000yr in 500 pages, but it’s a good springboard for finding interests in western history.
