I think the joy of these types of games is that you can choose however you want to approach it. More of an individual creative statement about how you engage with the game than it is a response to a prescriptive set of ways things are “supposed” to happen. Kind of a cool part of computer games tbh.

X-COM was such a breath of fresh air when it came out. The globe interface alone gave me the same vibe as the fluidity of DOOM’s graphics.
