Close Reading for the Twenty-First Century (Princeton UP, 2025), Lyric Logic (Columbia UP, 2026), essays, reviews, and other writing in various places

I made it home from the symposium for Close Reading for the Twenty-First Century at Emory, and realized I hadn’t taken photos — I was too busy thinking, listening, and talking — except this one of an uninvited attendee who tried to join during lunch

in my closing remarks yesterday at the symposium launching Close Reading for the Twenty-First Century, I did a close reading of our title, noticing the word "for"

so I couldn't resist making this as I'm waiting at the ATL airport, and @dan-sinnamon.bsky.social told me to post it

I took a red eye to Boston for MSA and then the hotel computers were down and they couldn’t check anyone in and so I waited in the lobby for another 7 hours BUT the book fair was set up during that time

I’m shilling CLOSE READING FOR THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY hard because I’m so proud of it —specifically because it, like every close reading, is the product of a community and an offering to a community.
@dan-sinnamon.bsky.social
and I collaborated with each other and also 22 brilliant contributors.
