Sneak peek into my thesis: What explains variation in child labor policy? By comparing the United States, Brazil, Peru, and Bolivia, I examine how the roles of different actors—as well as their disagreements over values, children’s rights, and economic interests—shape child labor policies.
Peru did it again: Dina Boluarte was ousted by Congress and José Jeri (accused of sexual violence and corruption) has sworn in as the 7th president in less than a decade. Boluarte‘s failed presidency risks reinforcing barriers for women in politics.
