There are a bunch of little free libraries, including a tardis, and a different mini art gallery where everything is free to take.

That said, the rhetoric around state colors feels like everyone in a state is lumped together, and sometimes it's hard not to be frustrated about sending my tax dollars to places where it appears that a majority of people think I'm "not a *real* American"

I had an argument years ago with someone where I was trying to explain the power inherent in a group vs. an individual or a small set of people who might be highly motivated but not working together.
This country is divided by all kinds of things that are more influential than state boundaries.
