Today is #EarthOvershootDay, and in Germany, #CarbonInequality is getting attention. Our recently published article shows support for societal change - the rich should lead by example and have the best, not worst, carbon footprints!

Collectively, people acknowledge carbon inequality (= the rich emit more) and favor fairer emission distributions. However, individually they perceive themselves to be better than others.
