Do short stories count? This is a "sketch" (rough draft) of a short story that I'm writing.

I have. Structuring stories into quarters defined by the player's ability to develop theories and headcannon has been helpful for me.

Things like stakes and pacing can be tricky for writing, and while it isn't a perfect 1:1 comparison, I've tested out story telling concepts around the D&D table before, like when to drip information, when to tease at something, and when to pull the rug. Helps to get real-time feedback.

As a fellow hobbyist turned "Let's do this thing" type of person with next to no social media understanding, I don't feel so alone anymore. Haha!

I'm not very well experienced (yet), but the biggest lessons I've learned is that when you are writing for a team, be prepared to make changes. Be prepared to add details to support mechanics, and to subtract detail in the writing that can be conveyed visually or mechnically.

I think we all drip our own mental illness into our characters, whether we want to or not.

I'm finally trying Final Fantasy XII again, which I'm more or less enjoying. The entire gameplay system was a real turn off for me back when I picked it up the first time. It's hard to enjoy the story when I'm busy trying to keep the mechanics straight, but I feel bad owning it and never finishing

Yeah, this is much more my speed. So, now I have a place to drop all of that clever stuff that I don't come up with.
