And that’s a strawman argument. She’s asking for labels to use some of the money they make from successful artists to invest in younger artists so they have a better chance of making it later in their career.

Chernobyl is good too but smaller scale nuclear apocalypse.

I’d argue that calling out Chappell for using their platform in an industry he’s not a part of is more performative than anything she did.

This is a slippery slope argument that detracts from the issue she’s raising awareness toward.

And yet, how many VPs and Executives salaries will be paid out of the money she creates for the label? I understand the world doesn’t owe most artists shit, but I do think Chappell’s label owes her 30 seconds of “virtue signaling.”

Is he not addressing American voters? Why isn’t he addressing Americans whites who vote monolithically for white candidates?

Do you attack the white people in your life who vote monolithically for white candidates with this same attitude?

Man you so afraid you won’t even attach your identity to your socials 😂.

Damn bro did you read the article? Online gaming is a Petri dish for some of the most impressionable people in American society - young men who struggle to find acceptance in the real world. Those with agendas are able to mobilize their vitriol to attack women and minorities.

You’re a legend, Talib. Been listening since 2000 when my older bro turned me onto you. That kind of exposure was big for a white kid growing up in rural Kansas. 🙏

No doubt. He’s probably a mediocre white guy in his 20s. I like to call them out even if it doesn’t change anything.

Except women weren’t around in programming jobs as kids. And once they were, they were exposed to massive amounts of sexual harassment from mediocre men. Online gaming is a cess pool of intolerance that’s been continuing to normalize hate speech for generations. Calling it out is the first step.

He’s not saying video games cause extreme racism/misogyny, he’s saying they normalize them. Spend 20 minutes on call of duty and you’ll hear some of thr most extreme language there is. Try not to be so willfully daft.
