Because, let's be real — children are not accessing ANY spaces on their own. Everything they're exposed to is at the behest of the adults who are in charge of them.

So, inside the home, they're learning "the white man's ice is colder" and outside, they're learning "white schools are better"

So, if you were bullied as a child (for whatever reason) that's not what made someone a coon.

What made them a coon was their parents letting them internalize the anti-black messaging that we're all spoonfed by default, and getting them access to white spaces.
