The Bloor Street Bike Lane extension west was well into planning five years ago, about two months before the COVID lockdowns. The lockdowns actually speeded up the process, somewhat. Today, there's some pushback, but generally are well used and accepted by the community.

We are about two days away from Elon Musk having significant influence over the U.S. government when his beliefs seem to veer towards extreme right-wing policies and the politics of division, the _Toronto Star_ reports today.

As expected, the FAA has ordered a mishap investigation for yesterday’s Starship launch. As usual, the company that had the mishap will lead the investigation, in this case, SpaceX. Since they seem to know the likely cause of the RUD, and how to fix it, this maybe a quick investigation.

Congratulations Blue Origin on the successful maiden flight of their New Glenn orbital rocket. It adds another provider for the U.S. launch market.

Ghost Bike ride THU, 21 NOV '24. Meet at 5:00 p.m., depart 5:30 p.m. at Matt Cohen Park (Bloor & Spadina). This is a ride for the teenaged cyclist that died last week in Ajax. It is also a ride for all 18 cyclists killed this year in southern Ontario.

Advocacy for Respect for Cyclists hosted a Ghost Bike memorial ride for Brian Armstrong today. He was a member of many diverse communities and they came out today to pay tribute to him. I want to thank everyone that came out and our guest speakers.

Details are limited, there's been yet another cycling death in the GTA. Police are reporting that the cyclist struck on 8th Line died. An ARC @RespectTO Ghost Bike Memorial Ride will be arranged at a later date. Details TBA.
