I dropped off the face of the earth after starting grad school, so this is a good opportunity to show you what I’ve been working on! I’ll be finishing my MA in Strategic Communication Design in August, and would love any leads for full-time design work. :)

Pull directly back with your shoulders and back muscles. “2 sets of 15. 20 pound plates or a hard strength elastic band. Strengthens forearms and back.” 4, elastic pulls: hold an elastic band with your arms straight out in front, then use your back muscles to pull your hands out to your sides. “2 sets of 15. Medium strength elastic band. Strengthens chest and back.” 5. Wrist curls: can be done either palm facing up or down. Start with the wrist straight, and slowly bend it down or up. “3 sets of 15. 3 pounds. Strengthens the forearms and encourages wrist mobility. The trick is leaning the wrist over a table of knee to isolate the forearm.” 6: ball squeeze: squeeze an elastic or foam ball in your hand. “3 minutes with each hand, with a medium strength ball. Builds all fine motor muscles and offsets wrist overuse.” 7. “And of course, stretching. Lots of it.”

Caption: the first thing to address was the most severe aspect of carpal and cubital tunnel problems: nerve pain. The [median] and ulnar nerves trace all the way back to the neck and shoulder blade. The disproportionate amount of pain and the speed of onset indicated that my problems had more to do with my back than my arms.” A similar diagram to the previous, only now indicating muscles as linearly hatched zones.
