My wife and I are 25 parks down on our quest to visit all 30 MLB stadiums; Milwaukee was in our top five overall trips, not so much the ballpark experience but rather the city itself. One highlight was seeing the old Brewer’s slide sitting in the corner of the Lakefront Brewery warehouse.

additional testing, including techniques such as double-blind controls, placebo use, etc. None of these techniques exist in my back sleeping/autism study, and neither do they exist in the acetaminophen/autism study. 5/5

This is where an observer notes two or more things happening at roughly the same rates at roughly the same time, and assumes this equates to a causative effect. Of course it’s more complex than that; in order to demonstrate causation, other potential contributing factors must be ruled out using 4/x

After all, the correlation between the steep rise of Autism and back sleeping in the 1990s and early 2000’s seems suspect, does it not?

Some of you will remember that in the early nineties, pediatricians began recommending back sleeping for newborns to reduce the incidence of sudden infant death syndrome. While it appears that this effort was a success as evidenced by the third graph (yay, science!), are we celebrating too soon? 2/x
