It made her seem really important.
Before you could Google words, I thought that when people said "primadonna" they somehow meant "pre-Madonna", like it happened before Madonna
e.g. I took "oh she's such a pre-Madonna" to mean she's outdated and has a style from before the 1980s
e.g. I took "oh she's such a pre-Madonna" to mean she's outdated and has a style from before the 1980s
