His name is Taliesin Fraye!! Half-elf monk (I might change his subclass if I play him again now that I know how monks actually work LOL), was raised in his order after being orphaned as a young child. He was always very defiant/ a troublemaker (charlatan background things) and never appreciated or truly cared for his teachings until his mentor Aetoris died. They were very close and he was basically family for Taliesin. After his death Tal felt a lot of guilt for never taking anything seriously, and finally tried to dedicate himself to it all, wanting to at least make the memory of Aetoris proud. That whole kinda thing. But ofc he's falwed!! He has a hard time sticking to his own rules and loses to his temptations and emotions all the time. I sorta came up with the idea that his scars are markings from his monastic order that's like a rite of passage sort of thing that happens when they reach a certain stage of their training/experience! Except maybe it's more traditionally tattooed, and he chose to have the markings cut into his skin instead - to have the pain and the scarring as a bigger reminder that he wants to make his mentor proud, but also because he felt he deserved the pain for being such a disrespectful shit his whole life. He was an Astarion kisser - to me their relationship was complicated in the way that Astarion was making Tal worse (bad influence yk) while Tal was sort of helping Astarion get better. And during the arcs Tal was having to tackle the inner conflict of loving Astarion and wanting to be good for him, not knowing if Astarion would be better off without romance, knowing that he strays from the path he needs to be on because of Astarion's influence/wanting him to like him, that part of him that doesn't want to live by a set of rules, and the guilt of it all <3 (aka the approval battle of being a nice good person vs doing things solely to get that "Astarion Approves") He's a good person and wants to do the right thing; and he's also an…
