we saw a flock of seagulls last night at the ardmore music hall. it was fun and it’s a bummer that they’ve been conscripted to the “one hit wonder” bin. their catalog has so many bangers. this record changed my life.

the year is 1997. i’m in a new brunswick nj basement surrounded by white people. all the boys are wearing some combination of camo cargo shorts, nikes, posi-tops & black tshirts. the girls either look like bettie page or are dressed like the boys but with longer hair.

i lament the fact that the yaphet kotto records aren’t available to stream anywhere, but then i remember that some people were really pressed for the snyder cut of justice league and i resign myself just to listening to those records on my ipod that’s 20+ years old. it’s cool man.

every so often and apropos of nothing, i am compelled to seek out and watch season 3 episode 6 of The State just for the greatest comedy sketch of all time, Porcupine Racetrack. it happens like 5-6 times a year and it’s always the best.

rewatching Battle Royale and i love that the bad boys of the asian films of this time are always pensive, steely assassins with a wild fashion sense.

it’s 2024 and i catch myself navigating the waxing and waning of passions and ennui in tandem with each other, even though we’re only a week in. is this the tumult of my life? or is this just middle age?

it’s 4am & i’m fully awake. not feeling it. i think i accidentally had a caffeinated beverage too late in my day and now i’m wide awake and mad at a latte.
