Strongly believing and expressing that “Die Hard is a Christmas Movie” is going to be one of the only ways we can tell someone is actually AI in the near future.

Be grateful that the press release didn’t call it “the beginning of a beautiful friendship”…

I think that some of the independent councillors who left the Labour Party (or were kicked out) over Gaza will join YP, but it remains to be seen if they’re organised enough to compete with established parties.

I think that Camden/Hackney/Islington/Southwark are particularly susceptible. Tower Hamlets is already chaotic but I can’t see Labour gaining there. In these areas campaigning is already fierce and has been since summer

I think there’s a good risk of that. Or strong Labour councils will shift to no-overall-control. It’ll depend on ward boundaries/social housing concentration/local attitudes towards the council etc.

Is the insinuation that London will turn far-right, due to the government pursuing far-right policies? I feel like a conclusion is being drawn over some coincidences. I have no doubt that Labour are due a drubbing in May, but that is probably as true today as it was last week

It’s embarrassing as politicians trying to be human always is, but the size of that audience is terrifying

OR they like areas they grew up wanting to be in. I have a very high opinion of places like Palmer’s Green because it’s precisely the sort of place my family didn’t come from and it was aspirational to me.

Can’t say I’m rushing to either tbh. And you’re right, I’m still getting used to a limited character count and how it forces your opinions into an insufficient box, changing them in the process.

I do think the City is underrated though. Beyond that, people tend to like the areas they’re from 🤷‍♂️

Both are wrong, not only in their “good vs bad” assessment, but also in the social history of the area. The idea of the west-end being some luxury area for wealthy white people is an extremely modern phenomenon, and it’s universally accepted that this gentrification makes those areas much worse
