7/15/2042 We leave Deseret behind and enter the former state of Colorado, now part of the Three Corners Consortium. Traffic picks up. We pass through small towns where people are on the streets, businesses open. Almost like life goes on the way it used to.

Searching for Hope AfterAmerica: The Practopia Project

According to the landfill miners, living on top of a toxic mountain of garbage beats being a wage chaser in the old economy. Work matters and plenty to eat. Long as you like crispy cricket patties.

The mountain of garbage is covered in a riot of living color, reds, yellows, even green. Apparently, these plants didn’t get the memo about global warming. Or like the people who refuse to leave, are just too stubborn to give up.

What do you write? I was asked this question recently and fumbled the answer. I'm part of a group of writers exploring Thruopia- ways forward toward a future we would be proud to leave our children. To me that always feels clunky. Curious if others writing in related genres have compelling pitches.

Can any one of the people calling for Chuck Schumer’s head please explain to me the strategy they would prefer? Seriously I am all for strong resistance but I don’t see a strategy in democrats closing the govt. Schumer made the best of two very bad choices and I applaud his courage.

So confused. The original legislation to ban TikTok came from Josh Hawley, a hard core Maga republican. It passed house and Senate by bipartisan majorities. It was opposed by ACLU and other "leftist" groups. Now we need to keep it? Who's making money off this reversal?

Seeing a lot of comments urging people to not remain silent in the face of evil. I get the desire to rail against the oppressors, but it is our actions, not words alone, that will save democracy. Nothing wrong with spending your energy silently working to create a better more equitable future.

Long admired Jimmy Carter and much moved by his funeral. Would hope we take this moment as inspiration to recommit to his ideals. Truth, respect, and concern for our neighbors are timeless and much needed.
