Like I said, the ones I remember liking the best are THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN and SPHERE. THE LOST WORLD is kinda more of the same, though has some stuff in it I liked better than stuff in the movie. I've read a few more and was entertained but I'm not sure I could really capital-R Recommend them.

But yeah Crichton is definitely more of an idea guy, you can tell he tries but his characters are always pretty wooden
