Just ten years ago the UK was top of the list - the best place in Europe for LGBT rights. We are now 22nd

The only country to drop faster in one year than us is Hungary

The government needs to act in a major way before this becomes their entire legacy
The #RainbowMap 2025 is live! Find out how 49 European countries rank on LGBTI human rights and see which ones are leading, or falling behind. Check it out now! rainbowmap.ilga-europe.org

Going down an Aquinas ‘Natural Law Theory’ rabbit hole this week. If anyone could point me towards academically accepted criticisms and alternative theories, that would be great :-)

Erik Erickson, whose seminal work was on the eight stages of development.

‘How did man’s need for identity evolve? Before Darwin the answer was clear; because God created Adam in His image, as a counter player of His identity … I admit to not having come up with any better explanation.‘

Thou shalt pay Amazon workers fairly, for they are as close as it gets to being Santa’s elves. Without them, Christmas doesn’t happen.

Time for my annual shoutout to local authority adults and children's social care emergency duty teams who are helping people every night, every holiday, every weekend. You don't see them. But they're one of the most creative, problem-solving teams you'll ever meet. Thanks EDTs 🙏🏻

As many in our country want to keep the ‘tradition’ of Christmas, while saying we don’t have the resources to look after ‘scroungers and immigrants’, we should remember Jesus’ birth, where an unnamed person puts up a family in need, even though his own resource to do so was scarce.

Praying for victims, survivors and their families, in the shootings at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin.

The memory of the Dunblane School massacre is still etched in me, and the change in our own country’s gun laws as a result. I pray that one day, enough will be enough in the US.

Reading Tony Blair’s book - ‘On Leadership’. He highlights three messages that leaders should communicate.

1) ‘A lot done’. To show that people haven’t wasted their time in mandating your leadership.

2) ‘A lot to do’. To recognise that you haven’t been able to do everything, but there is a plan.

"Forty per cent of men under the age of twenty five in prison today were in care. For me they have already been failed by society."

Prison reform campaigner, Matthew Torbitt, explains why early Government intervention could prevent imprisonment and save money.

One day into living in a new house, and two things I’ve noted:

1) I’d forgotten how quiet it is, living away from the main road.

2) My body has said ‘enough’. The last few months have been an ordeal. It’s no surprise I’m suddenly ill. Our bodies are sacred, so today I’m listening to it.

I mean this obviously can't stand. You can't have a foreign extremist, who used social media to encourage & facilitate far-right violence, plough huge donations to his favoured British political party.

The Wicked Movie opens with a really interesting question. ‘Are people born evil?’.
As a Christian who struggles to hold the tension between the idea of original sin, and the psychological harm this idea can cause children, I found this article quite helpful. escapetoreality.org/2022/08/03/o...
Original Sin is Unbiblical
The doctrine of original sin is one of the most damaging lies ever inflicted on the human race. Developed by Tertullian and popularized by Augustine, original sin says we all inherited Adam’s falle…
