This is totally my view on the idea of "essential" games too. I'm not massively hung up about having not played some famous franchises.

More that I'm curious in filling in my blank spaces, given that I write. More experience means well-rounded writing!

It reads as a total lack of faith in the audience. Catering to people who play games on complete auto-pilot, who need to be reminded about what every item does all the way up until the end.

Same for control prompts popping up - there's a concerted effort to just eliminate all potential hurdles

Played BotW and Automata - but I've never fully beaten Ghost Trick! Played a good slice of it, but never fully beat it. Might have to change that!

If I'm right in thinking - Subsistence is the version with the 3D camera, right? That's the one in the Master Collection - I've not picked up Delta, I was gonna pick it up after I play 3 just for the sake of comparison.
