2024 #107: Booker Prize winner follows six astronauts over the course of a day as their space station orbits Earth. There are descriptions of daily life onboard, glimpses into their lives back home, and lengthy reflections on humanity from high above. It’s inventive, has little plot, and bored me.

2024 #106: The vivid and highly autobiographical story of David, a recent college dropout and young father, who joins the campaign of an unnamed Illinois senator (it’s Obama). While beautifully written, I struggled to find a through line in the protagonist’s many meditations on his past.
