I really like this movie. Worth watching The Ghost of Yotsuya alongside it.

Excited for whatever it is. I wonder when Shunji Iwai or Nobuhiro Yamashita will get some love over here.

Kinda wish they topped the collection off with Man In White Pt 1 & 2 (I feel this one is never going to be picked up) but otherwise I'm very happy with the set.

Last three years my holiday's abroad have been centred around seeing Miike's latest at festivals. It's an illness.

Where can you watch it subbed?

Watched it last night, loved it. Will definitely pick up the blu ray at some point for the making of.

Absolutely. These films capture the energy that recent comic book movies failed to do. The pacing really helps too, every recent blockbuster about 1/3 of the film is tedious exposition scenes with stilted jokes. This is snappy, you can tell the team are familiar with each other and have chemistry.

I really loved the cartoon special effects. The giant monster moment was especially great as I've been watching all the Gamera films this year so seeing a big screen blockbuster version done justice was real neat.

It's fantastic. Suited my tastes perfectly.

Picked up some Obayashi, loved watching his films on streaming sites/rentals over last few years. Labyrinth of Cinema, when?

I bought the rain poncho for 15 last night. Hope this heat wave gives up soon.

So begins my daily hopes for a Switch 2 version

Hope the UK get this. Always wanted to see the 3-hour cut.

And Night Of The Living Cat anime out in July.

I hope pre orders will be as pain free as possible.

Black Tight Killers looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Big fan of the Stray Cat Rock films.

It's very different but fun in its own way. Whilst Zebraman has a fairly grounded setting, Zebraman 2 is a full on dystopian fantasy. If you have a fondness for the era of Lady Gaga's radio dominance, this is the Zebraman for you.

Going to be revisiting both films later this year once the UK Blu Rays are out. I love the first one in particular.
March 11, 2025 at 12:24 PM
Can't wait to see this. Wonder if it'll reach the UK before Sitges later this year?
March 10, 2025 at 2:33 PM
Amazing. Zebraman 1 is one of my fave Miike movies. Down for both.

Saw this at Sitges last year. Pretty fun movie!

I enjoyed the jazz performances as they intensified, using various animation styles and techniques to showcase the freedom that comes with both artistic mediums. I always attend Sun Ra and Kamasi Washington concerts when either are in town, and Blue Giant gets it.

Saw this at Sitges last year, really fun movie.
