There was news today from Black Bond Books that its founder Madeline Neill died. Hers was a remarkable story in starting a book store and creating a behemoth in this market. At its core was a love of books. The late George Garrett researched a biography on her life; hers was that worthy of study.

I was thinking about my grandmother. She loved baseball. She loved the Blue Jays and she loved the Mariners. She would have loved all of this, knowing one of them was going to the World Series. She's been dead 22 years & every few weeks during baseball season, I'll look in on the standings for her.
