Oh, I'm not suggesting he isn't evil, I'm just saying it pales in comparison to Trump, Musk, Stephen Miller, Bannon, Vance...the clear sign it was more willful ignorance/stupidity was the swimming in sewage with his grandkids. As stupid as Trump is, still smart enough to not swim there.

RFK Jr. might be the most dangerous of the lot. There are plenty more evil, but very few with a more potent combination of willfully ignorant and stupid.

Probably not. The most democratic portion of the US Constitution is the Bill of Rights, which was only added by Madison (who felt the primary goal of government was to to protect the opulent from the majority) as a compromise for the anti-Federalists who opposed the ratification of the Constitution.

The reality is, capitalism isn't going anywhere anytime soon. If I'm stuck with it, I'd rather it be inclusive. Were this the only thing Pope Francis ever advocated for, and the only ideology he ever worked with to try and better the plight of Peoples all over the world, I would see your point.

Just remember he's saying the quiet part out loud. You already knew this. Trump and people like him loooove the poorly educated for a reason. Do yourself a favour and have a contingency plan though. Trump is likely going to declare martial law April 20th. After that it's a whole new ball game.

True, and in some ways Vance is scarier. Vance is far more aligned with Musk's interests than Trump is. Look up Curtis Yarvin if you're not familiar. Yarvin was a mentor to Vance, Musk, Peter Theil and a pile of the technobros currently ruining America. DOGE policies are really Yarvin policies.

It will have a negative impact. No question. However, keeping such an unstable ally has its own negative impact.
March 5, 2025 at 5:56 PM
We're already in the process of doing that. There are posts all over social media telling Canadians how to avoid American products and giving us local alternatives and/or alternatives from real allies. That's phase 1. Phase 2 is new trade agreements with other countries.

Some of the same white folks "up in arms because our freedom is at risk" have also been consistently concerned with the freedom of all the other countries NATO doesn't protect and/or abuses. It's not an either/or.

No American how doesn't support that giant orange colostomy bag with the IQ of a potato and the stability of nitro owes Canada an apology. We're not pissed at you.

I always felt given the fact we have to consider arctic defense that the Gripens were the better choice in the first place.

As a Canadian, I'm completely okay with the U.S. leaving NATO. The odds we get dragged into less totally pointless and sometimes illegal military actions increases. Besides, as Canada and Denmark are currently learning, the country we need to be the most concerned about is actually the U.S.

Considering how asinine and false your point was, I thought I'd respond in kind.

"MAGA Matt"??? Lmao. Right. The guy who penned an essay on racism and white privilege and donated 1.5 million to the University of Georgia for social justice issues is MAGA. His wife defended Carrie Underwood's choice to perform at Trump's inauguration. That's as close to MAGA as he's ever gotten.

Some of these companies still do not get a pass. Rainbow predatory capitalism is still predatory capitalism.

Right, because Trump stuck to only targeting illegals last time (eye roll). Veterans who voted Trump already got a rude awakening when they realized that rolling back DEI hires included rolling back hiring veterans.
