We also don’t do just straight ritual or historical books. We have plenty of those too. I’ve expanded the scope to include memoirs/bios of famous brothers/sisters or books by famous brothers/sisters.

Absolutely. We do ours by committee. I just happen to chair it.
The way we do it: no fines or sanctions imposed if the books are kept longer than they should be. But I make anyone who uses it fill out a card with their name and the book’s title so I know where everything is at all times.
