I realize I’m a (lousy) armchair economist, but this seems new: Watch America steer itself into a recession, willingly blow up jobs across a range of industries, guarantee cost increases and further inflation while as a bonus damaging longstanding allied relationships. Feels like a first.

We need heroes, altruists.

We have endless self-serving banal actors that run our world. We expect little. They meet those expectations.

Heroes have served us and society well, less themselves. We need more of that: Care for others, belief the world can change for the better.
