We were playing a game and my son said “Qatar’s flag is easy, because it looks like a guitar.”
“Tell me how you see a guitar in this flag?”
“Well you see how the white part is spiky? And guitar strings are bumpy? Well spiky might be bumpy’s cousin, sister, or brother!”
All I could say was “Doha!”

I made my son walk down to the river with me today.
At one point, in response to something he said,
I replied “What the sigma???”
And he requested that I don’t talk Gen Z back to him.
It’s the nicest thing anybody has ever asked of me.

My original intention was to label this “License to Iliad”, but then for some people I’d have to explain the whole conversion of the name from the Greek Odysseús to the Latin Ulixes, and I just don’t have that kind of time anymore.
