This represents over a decade of collective work, with our managing editor Cameron Thibos running point the whole time.

You will find no better single repository of analysis, argument and commentary on human trafficking, 'modern slavery', and forced labour anywhere.

“while attention to violence against women may be sparked by anger at harm and a desire for redress, it might just as well be feeding vicariously off the forms of perversion towards women that fuel the violence in the first place”

The amount of shit on social media from unreconstructed and flat out racist white South Africans following Trump’s lead is truly insane…

Some of the most privileged people imaginable have convinced themselves that they are uniquely victimised…

The call for #NationalShutdown of South Africa is powered by Zuma aligned bots and xenophobes.

This is a storm of stupid, where people are distorting a minor technical point regarding Nigerian visas.

The only good thing about this is that the chances of an actual national shutdown are zero.

I am SOOO down for Sandton Drive to be renamed Leila Khaled Drive...

So the Wits Senate finally published its statement on Gaza calling for an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire. It took months of work to get here.

I’d be much more excited if it was February and not July, but at least we got there in the end

Yet another organisation dedicated to fighting modern slavery who wants people to work for free

In this case paying your own way is an example of “the body of Christ”

If I say I don’t want to kill anyone and then go and kill them anyway does the fact that I said I wouldn’t absolve me of their murder?

If I threaten someone with death on Saturday, but then say something else on Sunday, does that mean that the threat on Saturday doesn't count?

Watching the ICJ proceedings.

I now have a really hard time imagining what the Israeli response to the South African case is going to look like

It is going to be hard to argue this on the legal merits, so they may be tempted to take the Trump route and flood the zone with shit

South Africa is not taking Israel to the international criminal court, but to the international court of justice.

Confusing the two gives more credit to the ICC than it deserves.

The ICC should be acting urgently on Palestine, but hasn’t so far…..

Tick tock…..

It is very clear where the majority of states and peoples in the world stand on Palestine.

Yet the “international community” continues to be defined in terms of Europe and its settler colonies….

I like it when hospitals are intact and doing the essential work of caring for the sick and injured

It is an old fashioned viewpoint, I concede, but this new strategy of deliberately turning hospitals into burning rubble filled with dead bodies just doesn’t work nearly as well

The Australian referendum on the voice to parliament is today…..

Racism and disinformation are going to win the day.

But there will be sausages….

Please amplify

This expert panel will discuss a landmark gender justice case which is likely to have a significant impact on labour law and future labour disputes. Its most important outcomes relate to the gendered dimensions of workplace bullying.
