The Friend AI thing sounds to me like they’re creating responses based on user inputs. But because users are treating it like an AI, not a human, the AI responses are becoming more and more aggressive and rude.

Because there’s no such thing as a one-sided friendship.

If you can't imagine why people would buy a phone with less battery life and a worse camera, just because it looks different, you are absolutely going to lose your mind when you hear about fashion.

I put together an annotated version of the new Claude 4 system prompt, covering both the prompt Anthropic published and the missing, leaked sections that describe its various tools

It's basically the secret missing manual for Claude 4, it's fascinating!

(CW: Profanity, invoking “Hey Siri,” and minor Mission Impossible spoilers)

Testing out how Claude Sonnet 4 works in my Shortcuts/HomePod-based “agent” system.

All done via Shortcuts and just “magic words” to call tools via IF statements.

No sequences shortened/edited

i have a framework in my head called 'some of everything, or all of nothing', about how if you want something you have to be willing to share it, or else you'll end up with none of it. and, anyway, thinking about that in light of the apple ruling

in hindsight, RLHF/SFT being a direct path to user addiction seems... obvious?

Only completed the sewer tutorial, but if you’re worried that the Oblivion remaster removes the notorious (and beloved) jankiness of the original... do not be worried.

My “Instagram is bad for you” stance just keeps getting reconfirmed.
For at least a day, Meta has been serving up extremely graphic, violent videos in Reels. Car crashes, shootings, cartel executions, heavy machinery accidents and people being dragged into the water by alligators. Sometimes ten in a row, and sometimes served to kids.

The Reels tabs of some Instagram users were filled with graphic videos of people being killed or maimed.

@matthewcassinelli.bsky.social Have you heard any reports of "Hey Siri, run [Shortcut Name]" no longer working on HomePods? I had several I used several times a day and they've all stopped working. Now it just responds with, "What would you like to set it to?" or "Okay, playing All Songs."
