This above of all: to thine own self be true.
Sorry. I empathize; financial stress is a torture unto itself. Treading water just above the red isn't any way to live.

My computer and broadband are products of generosity. I'd covered the tech industry for a long time, and loyal friends and colleagues came together when my prior PC went tits up.

That's my extremely high way of saying: If you're serious looking into free zines from the days when libraries were cool, I'd be honored if you'd keep me in the loop. I'm disabled with a menu of diagnoses, but I'm online and willing to help as long as my ass fits in my desk chair!

I'm motherfucking goddamn down with that. I'm an old broken piece of driftwood washed up from a newsroom that actually had people in it. Crap I was just reading Bukowski quotes. It'll take a few minutes to wear off. Lol. You heard it here first folks, take it easy with the moonrocks!

I collected four longboxes of '80s comics, two of them full of X-Men and other X-books. I want to say the first Uncanny X-Men ish that grabbed me, no idea what number, but it was when Storm took over leadership of the team from Cyclops by outsmarting him in a Danger Room match.

Other than the painfully '80s fashion, it holds up surprisingly well. The writing and acting are motion picture caliber.

Speaking of, '80s X-Men comics were the wind beneath my wings that carried me through high school! Chris Claremont FTW.

Wow, look at that! I don't think I've ever seen so deeply inside Uranus!

(I love this planet because there's nothing anyone can ever say about that can't be effortlessly turned into a childish butthole pun)

I can't seem to include the word "voice" in my posts for some reason lol. Don't mix crack, LSD, and bath salts kids!

Yes! His lived in my head for many years as well! Thorin's dying words, "child of the kindly West..." smacked my 6-yo self upside the head with the sads. The next couple of times The Hobbit came on tv I closed my eyes and plugged my ears for that bit lol
