Hey Bluesky 👋

I’m a Director of Product at Smartcar.com Did you know you can build apps that connect to cars? Now you do.

I’ll be sharing/ranting about all sorts of random things but mostly about technology, mobility, and product management…

…assuming we don’t move to a new social media platform
It will be interesting to see how companies adapt to AI powered browsers. I have seen websites already blocking ChatGPT Atlas. Chrome will eventually add same agentic capabilities... will they block Chrome? if not, it creates anticompetitive practices.

I think we are now becoming AI response editors. The amount of times I get “you’re right!” From these models after correcting them is astonishing

Me: Man, sometimes there are not enough hours in the day

Why could Aug. 5 be shorter than 24 hours?
Tuesday, Aug. 5 might see the Earth rotate faster than average. See how much shorter the day might be.

Is there any other ai code generation tool that comes close to Lovable? Bolt, VS code with copilot, ChatGPT are quite far from what Lovable can do because none of them can really understand context the same way Lovable can which makes all the difference.

Lies, @figma.com, just lies! retrying 2 or 3 times works so it's kind of like "how about now?" :) Copying as PNG is so convenient that I rather try it multiple times than using the export option.

The Smartcar report showed that drivers aren't opposed to subscriptions but want more value out of it.

Do you currently pay for your car subscriptions? Do you know about its benefits?

76 Percent of Drivers Are Saying No to Automakers' Grubby Subscription Services: Study
The study found that while drivers aren't completely opposed to subscriptions, the value just isn't there yet in automakers' connected services push.

How many software companies end up spinning up a small team that can “move fast” while the rest of the teams continue with business as usual? I’ve seen this happen at multiple companies already.

Do I get distracted easily? I have 30+ Slack “drafts” messages that I started to write and never hit send 😬

To this day, no bank and no tool has been able to beat how good Simple was as a bank and budgeting software. That was a great product.

Mobility is a fundamental human right. EV Drivers are now forced to find alternative ways to charge their cars. If they do not own a charger at home, they now need to spend time outside of work to charge. Workers are being punished unnecessarily. “Just get a new car/job” is a privileged solution.

We surveyed 1K drivers in the US and Europe:

🚗 76% aren't subscribed to their automaker's connected services
🔗 But close to 60% use external car apps
🔐 More than half of drivers would share their vehicle data if they see clear benefits

Oh no. Why can’t we have nice things?
I wrote about the drama w the "Ladies and gentleman, the weekend" account. The guy who started the whole thing tried to join Bluesky and was shut down for impersonation, even though it's an imposter running the Bluesky account! Now he's forced to quit the whole thing www.usermag.co/p/tiktok-cut...

If things didn't go as planned today for you, you're not alone. Someone broke the login page for ChatGPT's Sora on a Friday afternoon.

I'm sorry for whomever is having a hell of a Friday at work.
