My kit for the #forukrainegb has arrived 😁
I haven't had a chance to dig through it all yet but the packaging was very nicely done.
It will take a while to work out how to display this but I look forward to playing with some ideas 😜

I don't know when Ruslan from Rush model kits will be able to release his 1/48 Bayraktar decals but it might be worth waiting as they will include these two schemes 😀

Rush models have got some excellent stuff out for anyone wanting to build a Ukrainian Sea King.
The set includes decals and canopy masks and possibly the best instructions I have seen for decals.

Crazie Maisie (My local model shop) in Kirkby in Ashfield now has some Arcus Hobby Colors paints in stock.
They have Enamel and Acrylic so if you want to try them (and discover a great little model shop) they are only 10-15 minutes off Junction 28 of the M1.

The other option I would suggest if you don't fancy mixing from scratch would be to try the Lifecolor rust set.
This also brush paints really well but I have found them tricky to airbrush

I have been enjoying mixing the colours I want from a mixture of red, yellow and green paints from the Arcus Hobby Color basics paint set

I have been enjoying mixing the colours I want from a mixture of red, yellow and green paints from the Arcus Hobby Color basics paint set
(Top left set in the image below)
These spray quite well (though not as nicely as Tamiya IMO) and brush really well (as good or better than Vallejo or Mig)

I hadn't seen it before and found it really good, one of the better war films out there.

For those in the UK (or with a VPN I guess)
The BBC currently has The Cruel Sea on iPlayer.
I hadn't seen it before and found it really good, one of the better war films out there.
My grandpa served on a flower class so I loved the backgrounds as much as the story itself!

The kit is short run but really pretty nice.
The air vents around the engine are large enough that you can see the engine bay is empty so I would recommend putting something in their but once in you can't really see what it is so a ballpoint pen lid with some wire looks perfectly adequate 😁

It's a one person operation by my friend Ruslan from Ukraine.
Their first kit was an IL-62 using ICM plastic and some (really very nice) new decals.
Ruslan has now also started to release some decal sheets and 3D printed accessories and he has some full 3D printed kits coming

All of the painting was done using Arcus Hobby Color acrylics with all colours being mixed using their basic colour set.
After spraying zenithal highlights all painting was done by brush, I really enjoy small scenes in tiny scales and intend to make some more soon!
