On this day 24 years ago, nearly 3,000 lives were lost. Among them, 343 firefighters ran toward danger & never came home. This cross, forged from Twin Towers steel & given to me by FDNY, is heavy in hand & heavy in meaning. It’s a solemn reminder of sacrifice, courage & unity. We will never forget.
