That Sally Mae loan was predatory - and was the single most damaging financial decision made in my life. They know kids are dumb as hell and made me feel quite comfortable taking out the loan. As if a 13% loan was totally normal.

Meanwhile, my FHA loan, at 6%, has required me to account for every cent over the last 4 years (business and personal) and has taken almost 8 months. I also had to take homeownership/buying courses. Is it a long and irritating process? Yep! But I have a thorough understanding what I’m getting into
