bought £120 worth of Filipino DVDs just to make myself feel something

After god knows how many months of stress and waiting I’ve finally been told I’ll be receiving AHRC funding from M4C for the remainder of my PhD🥳 A beautiful early birthday present

Beating Hearts (dir. Gilles Lellouche, 2024) is easily the best film of the decade so far. My only truly 5-star film since 2019.

For anyone interested in seeing some classic Filipino films, the ABS-CBN YouTube Channel currently has a v good amount of remastered films from the 70s-90s (some of which were only available before in poor quality, and are now for the first time with English subs)🥳
