I probably won't use "Trent the Uncatchable" as a convention name again because every single time I went to get a book signed the author, the author wanted to personalize it to "Trent." LOL

The tariffs won't help Hawaii because it will take 10 to 15 years to get a new batch of mature productive trees. So nuts will be expensive from both supply and tariffs. The tariffs are not going to fix anything, we are just gonna pay more.

Almost all Macadamia nuts come from South Africa. The Hawaiian farms are being abandoned because the trees are past their prime and South Africa nuts are cheaper because the labor cost are cheaper. Thus the African nuts no longer have significant competition.
