After the election, someone on the old hellsite posted this, and it has stuck with me. There is often a lot to be hopeful for (the medical advances we’ve seen hints of this decade are amazing) but sometimes you just need spite to get you through it.

Lincoln has this figured out 160ish years ago. It isn’t enough for them to get their way, they will only be happy when those who opposed them stop suggesting they are wrong and instead concede they are right.

This is what the quote tweet is responding to, and there are three things to take away from this on the limits of polling and the way we think of the results. First: without more data, we have no idea how big the overlap between the two groups is.
The POLITICO-UC Berkeley Citrin Center survey conducted by TrueDot found that 70 percent of Democrats believe gerrymandering is "never acceptable." But a strong majority of Democratic voters across the country think California Democrats should "fight back" and create more favorable House districts if Texas Republicans do, embracing the exact idea likely to.go before California voters.
