Hillary won MN 46.4% to 44.9% (D+1.5%) but won the popular vote 48.2% to 46.1% (D+2%)

Hillary underperformed in MN by .5% in 2016. So the time to write this article was definitely then or the last time Democrats underperformed relative to the national margin which would have been in 1952
